Two games will remain on Saturday as the 11A and 11AAA state championships will finish out the weekend at the DakotaDome in Vermillion.
The first game on Saturday, the 11A title game will be between Sioux Falls Christian and Lennox as the Chargers come in undefeated at 11-0 and has beaten Lennox 17-0 back in September this season. The Chargers have been dominant on defense with five shutouts including back-to-back shutouts in the playoffs to reach the championship game. Only Rapid City Christian in week two and Dell Rapids in week eight have score multiple touchdowns against the Chargers. Lennox, who upset Dell Rapids in the semifinals last Friday 15-14, is 9-2 on the season with just one extra loss to West Central. The Orioles have scored at least 34 points in eight of the 11 games so if this offense can get going against the stout Sioux Falls Christian defense, they have a shot to compete against the best team in 11A.
The 11AAA game will feature the top two seeds as Brandon Valley takes on Lincoln. Both teams are 10-1 on the season but Brandon Valley has the win over Lincoln when the Lynx picked up a 35-30 win at the beginning of October. Both teams have scored a lot of points ahead into this game with a 41-14 and 38-14 wins for Brandon Valley while Lincoln won 60-21 and 42-28. It’s a rematch of last year’s state championship as the Patriots look to grab its third straight state title while Brandon Valley hasn’t won since 2020. It would be Lincoln’s fifth 11AAA title since the class started in 2013.
Kickoff on Saturday is at 12:00 between Sioux Falls Christian and then at 7:00 Saturday night for Brandon Valley and Lincoln.
