The Jones County Coyotes will look to get into the SoDak 16 tonight as the Coyotes will travel to Kadoka to face the Kadoka Area Kougars in the Region 7B SoDak 16 qualifier.
The Coyotes and Kougars both won on Tuesday with both teams playing in Kadoka as the Kougars beat Wall in a sweep while the Coyotes knocked off Philip in four sets to reach the SoDak 16 qualifying game. However, the two and three seed in the region will be playing in Martin at the Warrior Center, the home of the top seed in Region 7B, Bennett County as they will take on Edgemont to begin the night. The two winners will advance to the Class B SoDak 16 next week Tuesday.
Kadoka Area is coming in at 26-7 while Jones County is 18-10, but the Kougars have had the Coyotes number this year and the last several years. Kadoka has swept Jones County both times this year, but have swept Jones County in the last eight matches dating back to the 2023 season. The Coyotes are led by Sunny Valburg with 207 kills but are balanced with four players have 100 kills each. Setter, Jacey Jensen is 20 assists away from 600 this year.
Kadoka Area and Jones County will be the second game of the night with Bennett County and Edgemont playing at 6:00 Central time and the Kougars and Coyotes playing second, around 7:15 in Martin.
