PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Pierre City Commission is meeting tonight at the Pierre Municipal Building. Commissioners will consider approval of a three-item consent calendar before getting into the rest of the night’s agenda. The calendar includes approval of claims, meeting minutes from the October 28th meeting and a new hire for the Business Office. There are no items of unfinished business for the Commission. Commissioners will consider approval of a street closure request for the annual Parade of Lights on December 5th and will consider a quest to serve alcohol filed by the South Dakota Discovery Center for its annual Best for Last event on November 20th. First reading will be given to the 2026 utility rates ordinance and Commissioners will consider approval of the 2026 fee schedule and 2026 liquor and wine license renewals. Other agenda items for the Pierre City Commission include discussion on the upcoming Veteran’s Day holiday schedule for city offices and a salary adjustment for the Pierre Police Department. Commissioners will close out the meeting by presenting any dialogue they many have. The Pierre City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 pm.
