Win and move on, lose and go home. That was on the line in a playoff volleyball match on Monday night. The Sully Buttes Chargers would fall to the Highmore-Harrold Pirates 25-10, 25-17 ad 25-17 ending the season.
This one meant more as the season was on the line. The Pirates took set one 25-10 after a 11 kill set from Highmore-Harrold. Sully Buttes finished with six. Set two would be more competitive. After a six point rally from the Chargers including three aces from Scotlyn Kinney to help the rally, it was the Pirates with the last run sealing a 25-17 second set victory. The Chargers had just three kills in the second set. The third set was a back and forth affair for a while and a last minute run by Highmore-Harrold would seal the fate in the Sully Buttes Chargers season. The Chargers couldn’t overcome the errors and would fall in a three set sweep 25-17. Madison Bradberry led the match for the Chargers with six kills while Scotlynn Kinney finished with three aces.
Sully Buttes finished the season 7-20 overall. Highmore-Harrold will face the winner of the Ipswich and Gettysburg match which will play Tuesday and the match will be Thursday for a spot in the SoDak 16.
