PIERRE, (KCCR) — As the federal government shutdown continues with no apparent end in sight First Dakota National Bank is looking to try and make life easier for federal government employees who are working with no paycheck in their future. First Dakota National introduced last week a no-interest, no-fee loan program for federal government employees being impacted by the shutdown. To be eligible those federal employees must be credit-qualified. A total of 10-million dollars is being set aside for the program. Borrowers can apply for loans up to three months of their normal net pay. The program is available to all qualifying federal government employees including non customers of First Dakota National Bank however borrowers are required to work or live in a First Dakota service community. That includes Pierre, Chamberlain and Kimball in central South Dakota.
