A day after the Sully Buttes Chargers and Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots battled on the football field in the first round of the 9B playoffs, the two schools will take to the court in volleyball, also in Onida.
The Chargers are coming off a tough loss to the Herreid/Selby Area Wolverines in three sets on Tuesday and are now 7-17, but face a team with an even better record than the Wolverines. The Patriots are 24-4 and are in one of the toughest regions in the state. The Patriots are seventh in the Class B standings but still sit in third place in its own region. Both teams feel all games are must win as the Chargers are trying to chase plenty of teams in Region 6B with two games left while the Patriots are trying to get a spot to host in the region tournament to make the SoDak 16 even though they are one of the best eight teams in the class in the standings.
Coverage of the match will be on Country 95.3, pierrecountry.com and on YouTube at Country 95.3 Sports with DT Meyer, the voice of the Sully Buttes Chargers on the call starting around 7:15.
