After having a 13 game winning streak snapped last week, the Sully Buttes Chargers raced their way to a win on Friday night after defeating Sunshine Bible Academy 62-12.
The Chargers opened the game up twice in enemy territory on turnover on down and an interception to start the game. The first saw four touchdowns with two on the ground and one through the air by Wesley Writler. Sully Buttes added three more touchdowns in the second all in the passing game. Sunshine Bible Academy would get their two lone score of the game in the second quarter by a 43 touchdown run and a 55 yard passing touchdown. The Chargers scored on every drive in the first half and took a 52-12 lead after one half of play having over 400 yards of offense in the first half.
The running clock would limit the amount of drives in the second half, but it was all Sully Buttes scoring one on a touchdown connection from Easton Moore to Karsen Miles. It would be added on by a kickoff that was fumbled by Sunshine Bible Academy and returned for a score by Noel Linstrom. That was the play that would finish the game with two minutes left in the fourth.
The Chargers improved to 7-1 on the season and will host a first round playoff game this upcoming Thursday. Sully Buttes will be the five seed and take on Hitchcock-Tulare in a rematch from earlier in the season. The game will be Country 95.3, pierrecountry.com and on YouTube at Country 95.3 Sports with DT Meyer on the call.
