PIERRE, (KCCR) — An Iowa man is scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Hughes County on drug charges connected to a fatal vehicle pedestrian crash in late September. Taylor Reece Hanson, a 27 year-old Rock Valley, Iowa man was at the wheel of a Chrysler minivan on September 28th when he struck and killed 23 year-old Elvera DrivingHawk of Kennebec, approximately 21 miles east of Pierre on Highway 34. According to a court docket in Hughes County, Hanson will be arraigned on charges of Manufacture, Distribution or Possession of Drugs Schedule I or II and Possession of a Controlled Substance for cocaine. Possession of a Controlled Substance in Schedules I or II for methamphetamine, Ingestion of an Intoxicant Other Than Alcoholic Beverages and Use or Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The first three charges are Class Four and Five felonies. According to n-westiowa.com, Hanson is being held at the Hughes County Jail. There is no bond information posted in his court file.
