The Pierre Governor volleyball team would get its best win of the season and one of the best matches played of the year for Pierre as they would get a four set win over Class A Lennox Orioles.
The Governors would win 25-23, 20-25, 25-22 and 25-19. The win breaks the eight match losing streak for Pierre while Lennox loses for just the second time, coming in back-to-back games. Pierre was led by Alyssa Loe who had 12 and Ally Keyes with 10 as they become the first two to reach double digits in kills in a match on the season. Addison Novotny also had six kills for the Governors. The win can be a big boost to reach the SoDak 16 as the Govs need at least two wins to reach the SoDak 16. Lennox was led by Libby Kranz with 19 kills to lead all hitters for the Orioles. She would be the only one in double figures.
The 3-10 Governors will face the Harrisburg Tigers on Tuesday, one of the best teams in the country. Coverage will begin around 6:10 with first serve scheduled for 6:30 on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Wyatt Burichka on the call.
