The Highmore Harrold Pirate volleyball team methodically stopped Sully Buttes in the first set, and after a couple Charger rallies, went on to pick up a 25-9, 21-25, 25-21 and 25-13 victory Tuesday night in Onida.
The Pirates were strong at the net with sophomore Jada Baloun picking up 15 kills, while Addison McDonnell and Emma Ferens each adding multiple kills from center position and left front. The Chargers showed flashes of coming to life, with strong performances from Scottlynn Kinney, Ally Buhler and Tomi White, but once again, too many hitting errors sealed Sully Buttes’ fate for the night. The 6-16 Chargers now have a week off before they travel to Ft. Pierre to face the Stanley County Lady Buffs, while the 10-10 Pirates have a home contest Thursday night against Wessington Springs.
Our next broadcast on Country 95.3 will be next Tuesday at Stanley County. DT Meyer will have the call from Parkview Gym.
