The Pierre Governor girls and boys soccer teams will get a lot of postseason recognition with the ESD teams being released and a total of seven Governors made this year’s teams.
Starting on the boys side, seniors Lucas Hight and Alex Oedekoven would be joined by junior Jacoby LaRoche as the Govs went 2-3-4 in the ESD this year. All three guys would show up on the score sheet while also playing well defensively to be recognized from the other coaches in the conference. For Hight and Oedekoven, to get the award in their last year is big.
For the Governor girls, they would have four members with seniors Natalie Flottmeyer and Jasmine Jost along with sophomore Lexie Hillmer and sophomore Emlyn Swanson being named as a honorable mention. The trio of Flottmeyer, Hillmer and Jost would lead the team in scoring as Hillmer had the team leading 12 goals during the regular season while Flottmeyer had 10 and Jost with six. Jost also had the team lead in assists with five. Swanson had 97 saves during the regular season as Pierre went 8-1 in the ESD and Swanson had four shutouts in those eight wins.
