The Pierre Governor golf team would finish the golf state tournament on Tuesday as Pierre would finish in 17th place as team.
The Governors were led by Tate Stoeser who finished tied for 59th as he shot a 165 overall. Stoeser led day one, but Rkyer Edson would lead the Govs on day two shooting an 84, five shots better than what he shot on Monday. Overall, Edson would finish at 173 while Matthew Eberhard would finish at 174, Rigley Kulesa a 189, Caleb Hutton a 191 and Hudson Prunty a 194.
Taten Mauney of O’Gorman would build such a big lead after day one, he was four shots off the leader on day two and would still win the individual AA state title by five shots. Braxton Hollan of Lincoln would be five shots back of second and tie for second with Tyson Lunn of Brookings, Charlie Swift of Harrisburg and Jayden Antonen of O’Gorman.
Pierre would shoot an even 700 tying for 17th place. Harrisburg would win the AA title, beating O’Gorman by six shots as Harrisburg would be at 590 and O’Gorman at 596.
All Governor varsity members will be back for next year.
