The Pierre Governor tennis team will take on the ESD tournament in Yankton both Monday and Tuesday this week as the end of the season is here and the state tournament next week.
The Governors wrapped up the regular season with a dual on Tuesday in Spearfish and then at home on Thursday against St. Thomas More. The Govs went 2-6 in duals this year in the ESD beating Huron and Brookings for the two wins. Huron is the only Class A team with the Govs in the ESD so other than the Tigers, it will be the last time the Govs see the other seven teams this year. It’s a two day tournament, just like the state tournament in a week so it’s a good opportunity for the Govs to get a feel for the state tournament although more than half of the girls have played in the state tournament last year.
