The Pierre Governors continue its tough week with its home contest, taking on the Lincoln Patriots in the homecoming game for the volleyball squad.
The Governors dropped its match to Washington on Tuesday in a sweep by the Warriors as Pierre is now 2-6 on the year. They face another Sioux Falls school in Lincoln tonight who is 6-3 on the year. The Patriots are coming in off a win on Tuesday, sweeping the Aberdeen Central Golden Eagles at home. Pierre will also face Tea Area on Saturday on the road, but tonight can get the big crowd coming in for the Homecoming weekend as Pierre wants a big win to jump in the standings as they currently are above the cut line in the SoDak 16 currently, but a win tonight certainly helps climb farther away from the bottom four teams. Lincoln is 10th in the standings as they try to make sure they finish in the top eight to host a SoDak 16 game as the season creeps closer to the halfway point.
