The Pierre Governors battled back in the first set, but the Washington Warriors would be too much to handle on Tuesday as the Warriors would sweep Pierre 25-20, 25-9 and 25-9 in Sioux Falls.
The Governors trailed 18-5 in the first set and scored 15 of the next 21 points to pull within four at 24-20, but the Warriors found the last point of the set. In set two, Pierre would jump out to a 2-0 advantage, but Washington overpowered the Govs as it was Pierre’s only lead of the night. Washinton’s Chloe Peterson would have a match high nine kills as Danna Harpe and Jade Jere would each have eight and Aubrielle Perry had seven. Washington had a total of 39 kills with seven players recording at least two. Pierre was led by Addison Novotny and Alexis Schlekeway, each with three as Pierre also had seven players record a kill, but had just 14 for the match.
