The Pierre Governor Cross Country team would see a lot of success on Thursday in Aberdeen as the Governor girls would get four runners in the top ten while the boys would take second place as a team.
For the Governor girls, Emery Larson would win the event beating out teammate Gwen Richter who finished in second. Larson would run a 19:33 while Richter ran a 20:18. Charlee Willaims-Smith would finish in fifth place and Elaina Rounds would round out the top 10 in 10th place.
The Governor boys would score 50 points, good for second ahead of Watertown who had 61. Pierre was led by Caleb Moris who ran a 17 flat getting fourth place, within the minute of the top runner for the day. Daniel Mason would also get a top ten finish at eight place while Shane Jones and Jayden Brandt would be 13th and 14th respectively. Camden Lamb would be 17th, Asher Oxford 21st, Jett Kirschenmann 22nd, James Stolley 30th, Matthew Eckert 33rd, Tryton Parmely 35th and Trenton Munyer 36th to round out the Gov finishes.
Pierre will compete again next on Saturday, September 20 in Huron.
