PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Pierre Police Department has released some additional details regarding an incident involving a student and firearms at Georgia Morse Middle School Tuesday. Officers responded to Georgia Morse around 10 am Tuesday on reports of a 13 year-old male student with firearms in his possession. Pierre Police Captain Dusty Pelle says two hand guns were seized from the student and there is no indication that any threats had been made. There is also no indication that any lists of names was possessed by the student who was taken into custody by Pierre Police. Pelle says the additional details are being released because of numerous questions and rumors being spread through the community in an effort to clear some details up. Pelle did not indicate if the two firearms were loaded at the time they were taken from the student. The investigation of the incident is on-going.
