While it wasn’t the first game played on the field, mother nature held Friday’s football game with clear skies and cool temperatures and Stanley County was able to hold its ribbon cutting before the first ever win at the newly renovated Ole Williamson Field.
The new turf field will be used and useful to the entire community of Fort Pierre…
The players ran onto the field after the cut was done and the Buffaloes ran to a 36-28 win over Leola/Frederick Area earning the first win on the turf field and brand new facility. Stanley County will have one more guaranteed home game, this Friday against Redfield, but can now host track and field events this spring. The turf also has lines made for soccer to be played on the field.
