The Mitchell Kernels would host its annual Kernel Bowl on Saturday with soccer, volleyball and football all playing at home. The volleyball team would sweep the Pierre Governors in the afternoon.
The Governors lost 25-12, 25-14 and 25-16 as they were held without a kill in the first set. In fact, Alyssa Loe’s two block shot points were the only two offensive stats put up in the first set for the Governors as Mitchell had seven service errors and the rest were hitting errors for the Kernels. Audrey Miller would have five kills in the second set for the Kernels while Pierre had just five as a team. Miller finished with 12 of the Kernels 28 total kills. Ally Keyes would lead the Govs with three kills and Paige Sporrer had two as the Govs finished with a total of nine overall.
The Governors drop to 1-4 while Mitchell improves to 4-2. The Govs will next host Sturgis and Spearfish Friday and Saturday at home.
