For the first time this year, the Pierre Governor volleyball team will be at home as they host the Douglas Patriots as both teams will look for their first wins of the season at Riggs.
The Governors are coming in at 0-3, losing in four sets in the last game to the Rapid City Central Cobblers. Pierre was swept by both Watertown and Stevens. Douglas, on the other side is coming in at 0-7 after losing to Custer on Tuesday. Pierre will look to get their first win before traveling back on the road to Mitchell on Saturday. The Governors and Patriots played to a four set, close match last year with three of the four sets being 25-21 with Pierre winning a 27-25 set to help propel them to the win in Box Elder last year. Pierre was balanced in scoring last Saturday, but will want those balanced numbers to be higher in the game tonight.
Coverage of tonight’s home opener will begin at 6:00 with first serve scheduled for 6:30 from Riggs High School on KCCR and on YouTube at KCCR Sports with Jon Winkler on the call.
