The Pierre Governor soccer teams would get two wins on the day at home on Tuesday beating the Watertown Arrows with the boys winning 4-1 and the girls picking up a 3-2 win.
The Governor boys would get a win in the first game as Jacoby LaRoche would strike for another two goals in the win while Alex Oedekoven and Everett Norton would also score. LaRoche would get a PK goal in the game while Carter Templeton would get an assist on the Norton goal. Hekmat Ghaznavi and Lucas Hight would also get an assist in the win as the Governors jump over the .500 mark at now 3-2-2.
The Governor girls would strike first in their game with a free kick goal from Lexie Hillmer, but Watertown would tie things up at one apiece at the half. Hillmer would score her second of the game with an assist from Natalie Flottmeyer to make it 2-1. The Arrows again would answer to tie the game at 2-2, but Hillmer had another long shot from outside the box and put one under the crossbar to pick up the hat trick and game winning goal as the Governors hold on to beat the Arrows and move to 5-0-1 on the season.
Pierre will be on the road next, this Saturday taking on the Spearfish Spartans. The boys will play first at 12:00 Central Time with the girls game to follow.
