PIERRE, (KCCR) — Hughes County Commissioners have agreed to the purchase of three more radar speed signs for use in the County. Two of the devices are already in place on Range Road and Kingsway Road and Commission Chair Rob Fines says they are making a difference…
The radars are not admissible in Court, but Sheriff Patrick Callahan says they are just as accurate as the certified radars used in Sheriff’s Office patrol vehicles…
The signs collect speed, time and traffic data and Highway Superintendent Nick Dooley says they’ve seen some fast numbers already…
The two previous signs were purchased at a cost of nine-thousand dollars. The three new signs are being purchased at an on-sale price of eight-thousand dollars. The signs can be moved for use across the County.
