The Sully Buttes Chargers will be on the road for the first time this season with a trip down to Burke to face the Cougars as both teams are coming in after dominating wins.
The Chargers had a 36-0 shutout over Northwestern while the Cougars had a 56-0 win over Colome as both opponents were winless in the 2024 season. Now, the Chargers and Cougars will meet in Burke for a much more competitive game. The Cougars last season went 3-6 losing to Kadoka Area in the first round of the playoffs. The Chargers beat Burke in Onida 56-6 in a shortened game, but won’t be expecting the same result again tonight. Burke is much more improved team and did not graduate a lot from last year’s team. Tom Moore, head coach of the Sully Buttes Chargers says, though, he doesn’t see much difference schematically from last year…
After the first, Moore says he was pleased with the effort level and how hard the Chargers competed…
Moore says physicality will be again a major key in picking up a win…
Coverage tonight begins at 6:40 with kickoff at 7:00 on Country 95.3, pierrecountry.com and on YouTube at Country 95.3 Sports with DT Meyer, the voice of the Chargers, will be on the call.
