Pierre City Commission To Meet Tonight

PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Pierre City Commission is meeting tonight at the Pierre Municipal Building. The meeting will begin as a joint meeting of the City Commission and Hughes County Commission to give joint consideration to a plat change in the Shamrock Commercial Addition in northeast Pierre. Commissioners will consider approval of a five item consent calendar before moving right into new business. The Commission will consider a street closure request for Evans Street from Wynoka Street to Oak Street for September 20th and will consider a request to surplus city property. Commissioners are still in budget mode as they will discuss the Business Improvement District Number One budget and hear more presentations from outside agencies. Coming before the Commission tonight are the Pierre Economic Development Corporation; Missouri Shores Domestic Violence Center; The Right Turn and River Cities Public Transit. The meeting will end with Commissioners presenting any dialogue they may have. The Pierre City Commission meets tonight at 5:30 pm. The meeting is open to the community.
