FORT PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Fort Pierre City Council is meeting tonight at the South Dakota Municipal League meeting room. Council members will hear reports from city officials before getting into the main agenda. Three public hearings are on the agenda. One is for a temporary liquor license for an event at the Stanley County Fairgrounds on August 30th. The remaining two public hearings are for plat requests; one in the Chateau Subdivision and the other within Vintage Square Estates. Council members will then consider approval of resolution relating to the two plat requests. The Council will consider approval of a transfer of a mobile home court license, a temporary malt beverage for the Buckin on the River event September 13th and a request to advertise for bids for mechanical and electrical work on two cold storage buildings. Other agenda items include a request to purchase a digger truck from the City of Pierre and discussion on the 2026 city budget. The Fort Pierre City Council meets tonight at six pm.
