The Four Corners baseball team’s season would come to an end on Tuesday with a 12-1 loss to the Platte Killer Tomatoes in the second round of the Class B Amateur State Tournament in Brandon.
Preston Nedved went 2-4 with two three run homers in the game for a total of six RBIs as Platte continued to hit the ball with a lot of power. Platte led 2-0 after the first and then struck for six runs in the top of the fourth to lead 8-1 and put the game away. River Iverson had the lone RBI for Four Corners as he had an RBI single with two outs in the bottom of the second. Garrett Stout doubled for 4C, but a total of just five hits weren’t going to be enough as the game ended after seven innings with the 10-run rule.
The Four Corners season ends at 14-4. Platte advances to play in the quarterfinals on Friday against Castlewood after beating Clark 10-1 earlier in the night.
