The Oahe Zap and Spearfish Sasquatch move the Independence League Championship Series to Spearfish starting tonight and will run through Sunday if necessary.
The Sasquatch won both games one and two in Pierre winning 14-7 and 5-3. Now the Sasquatch have to win just one of the next three games to be the ILB champs in 2025. Oahe will need to limit the big innings over the weekend which was a focal point of head coach Jamy Habeger heading into the series. The Sasquatch scored 10 of its 14 runs in the last three innings of game one after Oahe had a 6-3 lead. The Zap will want to treat the day off Thursday into Friday like heading into the second half of the season when they were best team in baseball in the second half of the league. Oahe won its last game out in Spearfish back on July 20 with a 7-5 win. But there is no room for error and Oahe has to take it one game at a time to reach Saturday and then get to Sunday.
First pitch for each of the three nights will be at 7:05. If Oahe wins tonight they will play Saturday and if they win tonight and Saturday, the winner-take-all game five will be on Sunday night, all in Spearfish.
