The Stanley County football team cannot wait for its second game of the season which is the first home game to be played on the new Turf Field at Ole Williamson in Fort Pierre.
The groundbreaking would happen last spring and the work through the summer and the field will be ready to go for the Buffs to start the 2025 football season. The grandstand will be on the opposite side of the field, the west side, where fans will not look into the sun as it sets. A scoreboard has been moved to the other side of the field as well and Stanley County will be one of just a select few schools to have a turf field for nine-man football making it a premier spot in the state to play and watch a football game. Stanley County begins the season traveling to Hill City on Friday, August 22 before then hosting Parkston on the 29th. The Buffs will host Leola/Frederick Area on September 5 and also host Redfield on September 12. The Buffs will play in Wall so four of the eight games will be on turf for Stanley County
