PIERRE, (KCCR) — A Harrold man is sentenced to serve half a year in federal prison for having a firearm when he wasn’t supposed to. U-S Attorney Alison Ramsdell says 47 year-old Jerrod Fallis was given a six-month federal prison term last week by U-S District Judge Eric Schulte. The sentence includes three years of supervised release, a 100-dollar assessment to the Federal Crime Victims Fund and the loss of the firearm and silencer involved. Fallis was stopped by police in December of 2023. Officers discovered a Rock River Arms A-R-15 rifle, silencer and methamphetamine paraphernalia. Due to prior state level felony drug convictions, Fallis is unable to be in possession of a firearm. Fallis was indicted by a federal grand jury on the charge of Possession of a Firearm by a Prohibited Person in March of 2024. He entered a guilty plea to the charge in April. The Hyde County Sheriff’s Office assisted federal authorities in the investigation of the case.
