
PIERRE, (KCCR) — A sixth person has been sentenced for their role in a central South Dakota methamphetamine distribution ring. U-S Attorney Alison Ramsdell says 42 year-old Misty Stahlhoefer of Pierre was sentenced to a 21 year federal prison term with five years of supervised release after prison. Stahlhoefer was involved in a meth distribution ring from June of 2023 to September of 2024/ Stahlhoefer along with Heather Stahlhoefer would supply others in the ring with methamphetamine to distribute in the Pierre area. The Stahlhoefers would bring about a pound of meth to central South Dakota with each trip with that meth to be distributed. Approximately 30 to 35 pounds of the drug was involved in the distribution. Heather Stahlhoefer is serving an 18 year sentence in relation to the case with Whitney Marrowbone 11 years; Wendy Mealer six; Brent Larvie four-and-a-half and David Reinhart two. A seventh co-defendant is yet to be sentenced. Heath Choal is scheduled to be sentenced September 2nd. Federal authorities investigated the case with the help of the Pierre and Chamberlain police and Lyman County Sheriff.
