PIERRE, (KCCR) — Pierre police were busy last weekend with no less than nine people being arrested for everything from outstanding warrants to public indecency. On Saturday around 9:15 pm officers were called to the 900 block of West Sioux Avenue to a reported sexual assault. The investigation discovered that a 15 year-old female swimming in pool was touched inappropriately multiple times by 19 year-old Johnathan Voeltz of Mitchell. Voeltz was arrested on a charges of Sexual Contact with a Child under 16 and transported to the Hughes County Jail which is a Class One Misdemeanor. On Sunday night around 11:45 pm, patrolling officers in the 700 block of West Sioux located a man urinating by a vehicle. Officers made contact with the individual who was intoxicated at the time. The man was identified by police as 27 year-old Jhovanny Ruiz of Fort Pierre. He was taken to the Hughes County Jail on a charge of Public Indecency. That crime is a Class Two Misdemeanor.
