PIERRE, (KCCR) — The South Dakota Highway Patrol has released the name of a Miller man killed Monday morning in a two-vehicle crash on the northwest side of Huron. In a release, the Highway Patrol says 31 year-old Caleb Schuette of Miller was driving his 2001 Buick LeSabre north on West Park Avenue toward the U-S Highway 14 intersection just before eight a-m. Schuette failed to stop at the intersection’s stop sign and into the path of a Kenworth Construction T-800 driven by 34 year-old Jeremy Getscher of Wolsey. Getscher was traveling east at the time of the crash. Schuette and the Buick ended up in the northwest ditch while the Kenworth Getscher was driving stopped on Highway 14, blocking the road. Highway 14 was closed for approximately five hours as a result of the crash and subsequent investigation. Both drivers were using seat belts at the time of the crash. Getscher was not injured.
