PIERRE, (KCCR) — A 31 year-old Miller man has died in a two vehicle crash in Beadle County Monday morning. The crash happened just before eight-am on U-S Highway 14 and West Park Avenue on the northwest side of Huron. According to the preliminary crash investigation by the South Dakota Highway Patrol, a 2001 Buick LeSabre was northbound on West Park and failed to stop at West Park’s intersection with Highway 14. An eastbound 2007 Kenworth Construction T-800 was traveling east on Highway 14 and struck the Buick. The Buick ended up in the northwest ditch while the Kenworth stopped in the eastbound lanes of Highway 14. Highway 14 was closed for approximately five hours as a result of the crash and investigation. The driver of the semi, a 34 year-old Wolsey man was not injured and using a seat belt. The driver of the Buick was also using seat belt but died as a result of injuries in the crash. The names of those involved are being withheld pending notification of family.
