Coming up this Sunday and running through Tuesday, four Pierre Governors will play together one more time as they play at the PGA National High School Golf Invitational at Pinehurst, North Carolina.
Nick Bothun, Lincoln Houska, Sawyer Sonnenschein and Luke Olson will all compete for three rounds at one of the best golf courses in the United States at Pinehurst. It’s hosted the likes of the US Open, most recently in 2024. The invitation only event from golfers around the country. However, not every state is represented which makes the selection and invitation more prestigious. Derek Anderson of Tea and also Olivia Braun of Aberdeen on the girls side will also be competing from South Dakota.
Teams will compete in a practice round on Saturday before competition gets started on Sunday and will continue into Monday and Tuesday. Tee times will be assigned for days two and three based on scoring during the first and second rounds. The four Pierre golfers will be starting at 8:30 on Hole 1 at Pinehurst No. 5 on Saturday and then start at 1:45 on Hole 4 at Pinehurst No. 8.
