The Capital City Little League would be eliminated late Friday night as they would fall 11-0 to Canyon Lake after weather delayed the start by nearly two hours.
The two games on Friday were scheduled for 5:00 and 7:00, but the Sioux Falls/Brandon Valley game would get underway at 7:00 instead. Both teams would be scoreless through the first inning, but Canyon Lake would strike in the second and third to lead 6-0. Another five runs would be added in the fifth and Pierre was unable to score as they were no-hit in the five inning loss, eliminating them from the state tournament. Colt Wariner reached on an error while Grayson Moore and Beckett Larson each walked. Moore would be tagged for the loss allowing six runs on eight hits with five strikeouts over three innings. Coby Danburg would pitch the fourth and fifth for Pierre surrendering two earned runs of the five scored in total.
Pierre finishes the state tournament at 0-2.
