The Oahe Zap would hold on for a 4-3 win over the Bison Baseball Team on Sunday at Hyde Stadium to finish off a four game sweep and now have won 11 of the last 13.
Oahe would get wins 15-0, 10-4, 11-4 and 4-3 to sweep the Bison over the Fourth of July weekend, dominating the team’s first four games of the summer. On Sunday, Tyler Hoffman would drive in the game winning run with an RBI single in the bottom of the seventh to break the 3-3 tie. Hoffman finished with two RBIs as he was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the fourth to give the Zap a 3-2 lead. Aidan Johnson had the other RBI with a bases loaded walk in the fourth. Ty Farwell had two doubles but did not record an RBI in the game as he grounded into a double play in the bottom of the first scoring a run. Jared Pugrad also doubled. Hudson Ivey grabbed the win on the mound with two innings of relief work allowing a run on three hits. Johnson would get the save pitching the final three innings going scoreless allowing just two hits with six strikeouts.
Oahe is now 16-18 and will host Hastings for three games over two days starting Wednesday. First pitch is at 6:05 on Wednesday with a straight doubleheader on Thursday starting at 3:00, all at Hyde Stadium in Pierre.
