The Oahe Zap never trailed in the game on Tuesday night as they would beat the Spearfish Sasquatch, the ILB first half champs, 9-4 in Spearfish to open the two game series.
Oahe had 11 hits with eight of the nine guys in the order recording a hit as the Zap struck for two runs in the top of the first and added on to it in the third, fourth, fifth and sixth to lead 9-1 through five and a half innings. Oahe had a four run fifth as Jared Pugrad and Alexander Jackson each had two RBI hits. Ty Farwell also had two RBIs which included a solo shot. Aiden Johnson, who had an RBI in the lineup, would get the win on the mound going four innings allowing five hits with one earned run striking out four.
Oahe is now 12-17 and have won seven of the last eight. Game two of the two game set is scheduled for 7:05 Central time tonight.
