Vince Pollizi would have two, two run home runs on Thursday night leading the Oahe Zap to a 5-4 win over the Plainsmen to finish off a three game sweep and extend the winning streak to five.
Brady Alexander hit a lead off home run for the Plainsmen as they led 2-0 after the top of the first, but Pollizi blasted his first round tripper of the day to tie the game at 2-2. The Plainsmen scored a run in the second and third and led 4-2 before Aiden Johnson had an RBI to make it 4-3. Pollizi came back to the plate in the bottom of the fifth and hit his second home run of the game and fourth in three days as he now has a team high five homers for the summer. It was all the Zap needed as Connor Hammonds, TJ Eikenberry and Jaxson Cornett would combine for the final six innings of scoreless relief on the mound. Hammonds would get the win and Cornett the save as Oahe has won five straight.
The Zap are now 10-16 and will host the Nebraska Prospects for a quick two game series after having the day off on Friday. First pitch on Saturday is at 6:05 and Sunday at 2:30 at Hyde Stadium in Pierre.
