WINNER, (KCCR) — Work will begin in early July on a segment of South Dakota Highway 47 in Tripp County. A precast concrete box culvert will be installed on Highway 47 starting the week of July 7th east of Winner. The work will require that part of Highway 47 to close for 30 days for all through traffic on Highway 47 from the South Dakota Highway 44 junction north to the South Dakota Highway 49 junction. Because of the work needing to be done, no traffic diversion will be possible on Highway 47. Crews will take advantage of the closure to get other work done, including three deep pipe installations and repairs will take place. The deep pipe work is being done one mile south of the Highway 49 intersection. Three-quarters of a mile south of the Bull Creek Road junction and about a mile south of the Hammerbeck Road. Contractors will construct pathways for local traffic to get through. Only local traffic will be permitted on Highway 47 during the work. The project has an estimated cost of 21-point-one million dollars.
