The Oahe Zap would win a 10-run rule game in the eighth inning as the Zap would win 13-3 over the Casper Spuds on Monday to earn a split of the four game series at home.
Oahe never trailed in the ball game as they got out to a 1-0 lead with a bases loaded walk in the bottom of the first. Ty Farwell would be hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the bottom of the second to make it 2-1 before Vince Pollizi had the biggest hit of the game with a grand slam to put the Zap up 6-1 through two innings. The Spuds would sprinkle in a run in the fourth and sixth to get to 6-3, but the Zap put the foot on the gas again scoring another two runs in the sixth, three in the seventh and another two in the eighth to win the game by the 10-run rule. Pollizi would finish a triple away from the cycle as he drove in five runs overall while Farwell had four RBIs as the two along with Nick Golden and Noah Codina each having three hits as the Zap mashed a total of 15 in the game. Connor Hammonds had the walk off sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth to put the Zap up the ten runs. Aidan Johnson threw the first four innings getting the win on the mound allowing just two runs on three hits with five strikeouts.
Oahe is now 6-16 on the season and will welcome in the Plainsmen over the next three days in its first non-league games of the season. It will be the only time the Zap face the Plainsmen. First pitch for each of the next three nights will be at 6:05 from Hyde Stadium in Pierre.
