PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Pierre/Fort Pierre Community Foundation and the associated Youth Philanthropy Fund has awarded over 17-thousand dollars in grants to 16 community foundations in central South Dakota. The largest award was to the Pierre Junior Shooting Club for 25-hundred dollars. The Pierre Concert Association was gifted two-thousand dollars with 18-hundred going to the Pierre School District. The awards range from 400 to 25-hundred dollars. Other groups being awarded funds include American Legion Post Eight; Oahe F-C; Missouri Shores; Sotera Youth and Family Services; Boys and Girls Club; Pierre Swim Team; Stanley County School District; Oahe Wheelmen Cycling Club; Assisting Children to Smile and Capital Heights Baptist Church. The Youth Philanthropy Fund awarded 750-dollars to Oahe F-C. Both endowment funds have gifted out over 675-thousand dollars to local non-profit organizations since they began.
