Ridge Leimbach had to deal with an arm injury during the spring of his junior year. He missed the rest of the spring and summer after just three starts in the year. It put a damper on his recruiting process, but he bounced back to be even better this spring and into the summer as he officially announces his commitment to Emporia State University in Emporia, Kansas.
Emporia State is a Division II program playing in the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association. The program has won an NAIA national title in 1978 and was a runner up in 1987 and then won a Division II title in 2009. The Hornets last appearance in the NCAA tournament was in 2017 and have won three MIAA conference titles, last coming in 2014.
Leimbach finished the spring with the second most innings pitched on the team at 3-2 with an ERA at 2.22 and WHIP under one at 0.95 and a batting average against at .112. He made two All-State appearances including his junior year which was shortened by the injury.
