Not many times is an amateur baseball game to be played in Pierre, but tonight the Four Corners baseball team will host the Kimball/White Lake Nationals in a make up game.
The Pony League contest will be played at Kelley Field in Pierre as many of the players for Four Corners played in Pierre growing up. Andrew Coverdale, Garrett Stout, Jack Van Camp, Matt Lusk and River Iverson all graduated in 2020 while Elijah Hand graduated from Pierre this year and Cole Hand plays in the Post 8 system. Jace Nicholas and Sam Hand have played for Post 20 in Fort Pierre while Jeremy Hand and Mike Hand have both graduated from Stanley County in the 90s. Kris Dozark, who also graduated from Stanley County helps manage the team. Four Corners is 5-2 on the season while Kimball/White Lake is 7-0 with some literal big pitching. The Amateur baseball league has its state tournament scheduled for the beginning of August so there’s just about a month remaining in the season.
First pitch tonight is at 7:30 at Kelley Field in Pierre.
