The Pierre Governor high school baseball team had two pitchers be awarded a second team All-State nomination as senior Ridge Leimbach and sophomore Will Danburg would receive the award.
Leimbach and Danburg were part of the top three pitchers for the Governors as the two and JJ Bucholz threw the most innings for the Govs as they went 17-8 on the season. Leimbach was 3-2 on the season starting in all six games he appeared in as he gave up just 11 earned runs and only 13 hits as he had an ERA of 2.22 and a WHIP under one at 0.95 while the batting average against was at just .112. Danburg was just as excellent on the mound. He went 5-2 in his nine appearances and gave up just seven earned runs all season so the ERA was a miniscule 1.19 and the WHIP at 1.11. His batting average against was just .235. Danburg was just one of four sophomores to be on either first or second team All-State in South Dakota.
