PIERRE, (KCCR) — A Pierre teenager has been killed in a three vehicle crash in Sully County. According to the South Dakota Highway Patrol, the 16 year-old male driver of a 2017 Dodge Ram was traveling north on U-S Highway 83 one mile south of Agar, when the pick-up crossed into the southbound lane. An approaching Peterbilt semi with a 37 year-old man from Gettysburg driving, pulled to the shoulder of the southbound lane. The Dodge struck the trailer tires of the semi causing the pick up to spin. A second semi driven by a 50 year-old Luck, Wisconsin man, was also traveling south at the time. That semi turned into the west ditch and struck the Dodge, which ended up in the center of the highway. The driver of the pickup was pronounced dead at the scene. Both semi drivers were not injured and using seat belts at the time of the crash. The driver of the pickup was not using a restraint. The names of those involved are being withheld pending notification of family.
