PIERRE, (KCCR) — There will be new names on the Pierre City Commission in July. Election results are unofficial until next Tuesday’s Pierre City Commission canvas, but Robin Lerseth has earned a chair on the dais with 592 votes. Lerseth had 46 absentee votes with 293 from Faith Lutheran and 253 at New Life Assembly of God Church. Matthew Reitzel tentatively finished second with 415 votes. Of those 34 were absentee; 234 were at Faith Lutheran and 147 at New Life. Kevin Larsen finished with 405 votes which is within the range for a recount. He expressed his desire to seek a recount following the vote canvas next week. Larsen had 29 absentee votes and 188 at both vote centers. A total of two-thousand 90-votes were cast. Reitzel defeated Larson in absentee balloting 34-29 and at Faith Lutheran 234 to 188. Larson nudged Reitzel at New Life 188 to 147. There were 164 absentee ballots cast with one-thousand 55 at Faith Lutheran and 871 at New Life. Incumbent Blake Barringer finished fourth with 395 tallies. He had 33 absentee, 192 at Faith Lutheran and 170 at New Life. John Childs finished fifth in the race with 283 votes; 22 absentee, 148 at Faith Lutheran and 113 at New Life.
