PIERRE, (KCCR) — It wasn’t just an election for the Pierre City Commission Tuesday. Voters in a number of area school districts held elections for their school boards. Ty Norman won the race for Stanley County School Board. One seat was open in that race. Norman defeated Tyler Green 127 to 109. Norman received 95 votes at Parkview Auditorium with 107 for Green. At the Hayes Hall, Norman picked up 32 to Green’s two votes. Voter turnout was 10-point-five percent. Sully Buttes also had a school board election Tuesday. Jalen Lamb defeated Robert Grafft 57 to 13. Thee seats were open in a school board election in the Lyman School District in a four person race. Cooper Garnos netted 278 votes with Cody Volmer second at 222 and Nathan Millard at 217. Veronica Gerard fell short in her Lyman County School Board bid with 204 votes. All vote totals will remain unofficial until canvased by their respective governing board which usually takes place at a board’s next regular meeting.
