The Track and Field season would wrap up on Saturday and the Pierre Governors would set a new All-Time South Dakota record in the 4×200 relay bringing home a state championship.
Pierre
The Pierre Governors would win four individual state championships on Saturday as Kali Ringstmeyer would close her Governor track and field career with three state championships. Ringstmeyer would team up with Lennix DuPris, Charlee Williams-Smith and Emlyn Swanson to win the 4×200 relay which was the number one time in South Dakota history winning the gold medal of the meet for the 4×200. Ringstmeyer also set the meet record in the 100 meter dash winning the title while also claiming the 200 meter dash championship. Williams-Smith would get the gold medal in the 400 meter run. Other top five finishes for the girls was the 4×100 relay with Swanson, DuPris, Brooke Hansen and Ringstmeyer getting second. On the boys side, Lincoln Dilges would place third in the 110 meter hurdles, while the 4×200 relay team of Karson Walti, Carter Schiefelbein, Carter Merrill and Eladio Simental would get third. Carson Stoeser was fourth in the long jump, Schiefelbein, George Rapp, Hekmat Ghaznavi and Stoeser fourth in the 4×400, EJ Boutchee fifth in the shot put and the team of Walit, Rapp, Merrill and Stoeser getting fifth in the 4×100. Pierre also had top ten finishes from Walit getting sixth in the 100, Simental sixth in the 400 and Caleb Morris would get eighth in the 3200 meter run and ninth in the 1600 meter run. Back on the girls side, Swanson was seventh in the long jump while the team of Swanson, Josephine Wurtz, DuPris and Emery Larson was seventh in the sprint medley relay. Larson was 10th in the 3200 meter run. The 4×800 relay team of Gwen Richter, Devyn Van Roekel, Mason Berg and Larson would get ninth. Overall as a team, the Governor girls would get fifth place at 63 points while Lincoln was first at 97.5. The boys would get seventh at 46 points while Lincoln also won the boys team title by half a point scoring a 120.
Sully Buttes
The Sully Buttes Chargers had two top five finishes in Class B as Annaliese Van Zee was third in the javelin while Olivia Olson was fifth in the 300 meter hurdles. Kadyn Westergren would get 12th in the shot put throw while Payge Bakker was 13th in the shot put with Tomi White getting 24th also in the shot put throw.
Stanley County
For Stanley County, two individuals finished inside the top 20 on Friday and Saturday as Raegan Taylor was 16th in the triple jump while Paxton Deal was 17th in the long jump.
Potter County
The Potter County Battlers had two second place finishes as Dannika Kaup was second in the 300 meter hurdles while she also teamed up with Jadyn Ahlemeier, Finlee Heien and Emma Schlachter to get second in the 4×400. Landon Larson was third in the long jump while Schlachter was sixth in the 800 meters. Jayce Stevens would get 20th in the 3200 meter run and 22 in the 1600 meter run. Layla Cronin was 23rd in the 1600 meter run while Ahlemeier was 22nd in the 800 meters.
Lyman
The Lyman Raiders had a solid end to the season with three top five finishes and a total of six top ten finishes. Aksel Ehlers was second in the high jump while placing fourth in the pole vault. Brooke Montgomery was fourth in the 100 meters. Cole Kieffer was sixth in the 110 meter hurdles and Montgomery was seventh in the 200 meters. While Ehlers was second in the high jump, Dawsen Volmer was eighth and Kieffer was 10th for the Raiders.
Highmore-Harrold
Autumn Fallis had three top 15 finishes for the Highmore-Harrold Pirates on day two and three. Fallis was fourth in the 1600 meters and seventh in the 3200 meters while getting 11th in the 800 meters. Brooks McPeak would get 21st in the 3200 meters and 24th in the 1600 meters. He would team up with Jrodan Erfman, Kia McCauley and Carter Webb to get 21st in the 4×800.
Miller
The Miller Rustlers would get two top five finishes from Isaak Hunter over the weekend. Hunter was third in 300 meter hurdles and fourth in the 110 meter hurdles. Faith Baumberger was 12th in the shot put while Pierce Baumberger was 19th in the 3200 meter run and Paige Werdel was 22nd in the long jump.
Jones County
The Jones County Coyotes would get a state championship in the 4×400. Thad Kierl, Bryer Kinsley, Asa Best and Adrik Schoon would be the team to get it done. Kinsley, Kierl, Schoon and Jace Nix would get fourth in the 4×800. Schoon was also second in the 800 meter run and Asa Best was eighth in the 200 meters and seventh in the long jump. BreAna Aske would get fifth in the 400 meter run.
