Hadley Hart would tie for seventh place at the ESD golf tournament on Tuesday at the Brandon Golf course. The Governors would place sixth as a team overall.
Hart would shoot a 13 over par, 84 which tied Mitchell’s Maddie Childs for seventh place. She would finish just four shots back of second place. Sittie Kasan would also place top 20 tying for 20th at 24 over par, 95. Drew Rechtenbaugh would shoot a 104 and Charlotte Brakke a 108 for the four Governors scoring on the afternoon. Sierra Prunty would finish with a 109 and Katie Reiss would get her first full varsity meet shooting a 124 to round out Pierre. Aberdeen Central’s Olivia Braun would claim the ESD individual title with a 10 shot win over Gabi Olson of Watertown as Braun was one under par, 70. Olson had an 80 and Emma Dohrer of Aberdeen Central and Ellia Homstad of Yankton would tie for third at an 81.
The team title would also go to Aberdeen Central as they would shoot a 37 over par, 321, 22 shots better than Mitchell who placed second by 28 shots. Pierre, who finished in sixth, would shoot a total of 107 over par, 391, 11 shots back of Yankton for fifth place. Brandon Valley was third and Brookings, fourth.
Pierre will turn the attention to the state tournament on Monday and Tuesday next week. The Governors will play at the Prairie Green Golf Course in Sioux Falls.
