PIERRE, (KCCR) — The Hughes County Commission is supporting an effort by the county’s Juvenile Services Center to create a safe, separate area for in custody juveniles to spend time outside the main building. Commission chair Rob Fines says he and County Manager Lori Jacobson have been discussing an enclosure with J-S-C Administrator Lieutenant Chad Seidel…
Seidel wants to enclose the east side recreation area of the J-S-C…
Seidel says the area could then be used for staff and other training and would provide more flexibility for jail staff…
The enclosure would be approximately 22 by 65 feet in size. Seidel requested estimate but only received one from a local contractor. Commissioners asked Seidel to get additional estimates and come back to the Commission for possible consideration and action.
